Savour the Season: May's Freshest Finds at Groombridge Farm Shop

As spring gives way to early summer, the shelves at Groombridge Farm Shop are bursting with vibrant, seasonal produce, freshly picked and full of flavour.

🥬 This Month’s Harvest

May brings some of our favourite British vegetables into their prime:

• Asparagus – Harvested fresh each morning; perfect simply grilled

• New Potatoes – Creamy and delicious, straight from Rosudgeon Farm in Cornwall

• Spring Onions, Radishes & Lettuce – Crisp, peppery, and salad-ready

• Globe Artichokes - Prized for their tender hearts and nutty and slightly sweet flavour

• Rhubarb –  Delicious in crumbles and jam

🍓 Malling Centenary Strawberries Are Here!

Our very own Malling Centenary strawberries are beginning to ripen. Grown right here on the farm, these juicy berries mark the start of summer and are already available in the shop.

We’re proud to host a community fundraising event for Taylor-Made Dreams, a local charity that helps children with life-limiting illnesses experience the joy of ticking off their bucket list dreams.

What to Expect:

• Raffle & silent auction with incredible prizes (think vineyard wines & glamping!)

• Classic tombola & cake sale

• “Bake Off”-style cake competition

• Magical entertainment from local magician Adam Smith

All proceeds go to Taylor-Made Dreams, supporting families across Kent, East Sussex, and Surrey with love, care, and unforgettable moments.
